Snapchat new app to filter desktop selfie


Snapchat for the first time has brought its camera to desktop app for user of application software like Skype.

New desktop app which is released by Snapchat is called the Snap Camera. This app enable user to get selfie of any other desktop using Snapchat’s selfie lenses and can access to Snapchat’s series of lenses including those made by other users via Snapchat’s Lens Studio software.
It is pretty simple to use Snap Camera. The app is can be installed in both operating systems i-e Windows and Mac. Furthermore it can be sync with other camera system connected to computer. Users can select it as the camera output for other apps like Google Hangouts or Skype and use those filters within those apps.
New partner of Snapchat, Twitch -live streaming video platform- where gamers can use the AR effects while they live video stream. The streamers can also offer lenses to fans who have subscribed to their channels.
In addition to, Snap Camera works with standalone app, the computer’s camera, which does not require users to login via a Snapchat account. “[We] want to put something out there that, first and foremost, is making it as simple as possible for a new community to access Snapchat Lenses”, Eitan Pilipski, Snapchat’s VP of Camera Platform, told Engadget.
Pilpski said that company saw a shift in the community where people wants to show their creativity by building AR applications, but they don’t have the skills to build a standalone app. He further added that the firm was motivated by the success of its Lens Studio product that had an immense success.
Snapchat is committed to make Snap Camera great success to lead the industry and create a community of creative people in terms of providing them the ability to have a presence in AR.
This new desktop app is introducted at a time of low daily average user on Snapchat. Companies third quarter 2018 low earnings were attributed the losses to Android users leaving while a rebuild of Snapchat's Android app continues said CEO Evan Spiegel in prepared remarks.
