Free Wifi for Everyone - Linksure Network

Free Wi-Fi is like dream coming true in today's world. The feeling of free internet is beyond description and it feels like too good to be true. However, like many others one Chinese company is also planning to give free Wi-Fi to everybody.

The Linksure Network was founded in Shanghai in 2013 as internet company. Now, it is aiming to provide free WiFi service all over the world with the help of 272 satellites. At the beginning of 2015, LinkSure Network closed a record-breaking A round funding of USD 52 million at a billion-dollar valuation. In June 2015, LinkSure Network raised RMB 65 million (US$9.8 million) in equity crowdfunding with a total subscription amount of RMB 7.714 billion (US$1.2 billion). The subscription amount is oversubscribed by 237 times, setting the record for subscription amount, oversubscription amount, and amount raised in China’s crowdfunding history.

Reports from Chinese media are that Linksure Network has luanched the first satellite in a constellation plan to provide free internet.Satellites will surpass the hurdles like oceans and deserts where infrastructure facilities are not installed.

The satellites will enable the people to browse and avail internet services through their mobile phones in regions not covered by telecom networks. The Chinese enterprise plans to launch the whole constellation of 272 satellites by 2026. It has revealed that the first satellite, named Linksure No.1, is going to launch from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China’s Gansu province in 2019.

Linksure Network is not the first company to plan so. Companies like SpaceX, Telesat, OneWeb, and Google also plan to provide internet access through satellites.

As per the United Nations data of 2017, 58% or 3.9 billion individuals remain unconnected to the internet. Hopefully, this will not be the case by the next few years.

Apple Violated its Own Rules for News+ App

Big companies like Google, Apple, and Facebook have been known to adopt anti-competitive practices to maintain their dominance on the market. A recent case that came forward is Apple violating its own App Store’s rules for its News+ app. For starters, let’s look at the rules: The developer should clearly state how long will the trial last as well as the price that will be billed.  The users should be notified that the subscription fee will be automatically deducted from the provided account.   The amount that will be deducted should be written clearly. The user should be given links to support and privacy policy. According to Apple’s guidelines, the above rules (which are a fraction of iOS application development rules) make sure the buyer is not misled. Now let’s look at the sign-up page of Apple new+ application. When the “try it free” button is clicked, the user is directly taken to the billing page without getting notified about the subs...
