WhatsApp put limit of 5 for text forwarding to alleviate Misinformation & rumors

WhatsApp the renowned Facebook owned messenger service application has put a limit on forwarding message. The Vice President for policy and communications Victoria Grand has announced, "We are imposing a limit of five messages all over the world as of today."

This capping was first introduced in India after wide spread of misinformation which led to massacre. Now the company's management has decided to put a limit on forwarding messages all over the world. The announcement was made in Jakarta.

The users of WhatsApp were earlier allowed to forward message up-to 20 individuals or groups. This restriction on forwarding message will put a limit and will help to curb misinformation and rumors to spread across the nations easily.

WhatsApp has been trying to avoid misuse of application. It has currently 1.5 billion users around the globe. This step will help the management to put a restriction but there is no way to stop the fake news, manipulated photos, videos without context, and audio hoaxes.

Comment below and tell us: whether it is a good step? And do you have a better idea to avoid misinformation and rumors to spread across a country?
